Kuwait urges Spain to participate in 2nd dev plan

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10, (KUNA): Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Al-Sabeeh called Spanish companies to take part in the major strategic projects in the country as part of the second development plan.

Al-Sabeeh made her remarks in a press statement Tuesday after meeting with a visiting Spanish delegation, headed by Secretary of State for Trade Jaime Garcia-Legaz, and in presence of Spanish Ambassador to Kuwait Carlos Saenz de Tejada.

She lauded the Kuwaiti-Spanish deep-rooted ties as historic and solid on various arenas, adding that her meeting with the Spanish delegation is part of the tendency to allow local and international private sectors to be involved in major strategic projects in the country within the framework of the development plan.

During the meeting, the Spanish delegation was briefed on highlights of significant development projects, the Kuwaiti Minister noted, adding that the visiting delegation offered, in return, several proposals on ways to participate in implementing these projects.
