Six containers that arrived at Mina Abdullah from a GCC country were seized after some tyres stuffed with imported liquor bottles were found in them.
According to sources, Customs officers at Mina Abdullah directed the containers to a warehouse in Sulaibiya for inspection and found the tyres stuffed with liquor bot- tles.
Officers from Directorate General for Drug Control coordinated with officers at Mina Abdullah to monitor the truck of the individual who claimed the containers. The Arab driver was eventually arrested. He confessed to the offense and declared that the owner is a Kuwaiti citizen.
Investigations are ongoing to find and arrest the Kuwaiti suspect.
According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about a traffic accident opposite Wafra Bridge on King Fahad Expressway towards Kuwait City, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and found the car split into three. They referred the corpses of the three Kuwaiti women to the Forensics Department.
Initial investigations indicate that the driver was speeding down the road when she lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into the lamppost on the side of the road.
Meanwhile, a tanker carrying nitrogen toppled near South Shuaiba Port.
Firefighters rushed to the location and dealt with the incident. No injuries were reported.
Kuwaitis held with drugs: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for possessing some illicit drugs and consuming alcohol.
According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen, in compliance with directives issued by Deputy Director of Ahmadi Security Directorate Brigadier Abdullah Safa to arrest suspected residency law violators, decided to conduct a precautionary search on a Kuwaiti motorist after they detected a foul odor from him.
They discovered a transparent sachet containing illicit drugs and its paraphernalia inside his pocket.
He was arrested and referred with the illicit items to the concerned authorities for investigations.
Meanwhile, two Kuwaitis who are wanted by law for evading jail terms relating to civil cases were arrested in possession of KD 718 and 60 pills of illicit drugs.
Securitymen caught them while they were sitting inside a car beside a mosque.
The suspects have been referred to the concerned authority for necessary legal procedures.
The officers also arrested an Asian expatriate from Mahboula in possession of 20 bottles of locally manufactured liquor.
Trapped in elevator:

When the Control Room of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) received information about the house on fire, Ahmadi firefighters rushed to the location and extinguished the fire after rescuing the individuals trapped inside the house and ventilating the building to release the thick smoke.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh firefighters rescued some individuals who were trapped inside a faulty lift in a house in Abdullah Al-Mubarak area.
They brought the lift down to the ground floor and opened the door with utmost professionalism to rescue the trapped individuals.
In addition, Farwaniya firefighters rescued an individual whose car fell into a ditch inside a fuel station at Ishbiliya area.
They rushed to the location after receiving a distress call in that regard and quickly removed the car using hydraulic removal system with efficiency such that the motorist did not sustain any injury.
Chinese arrested: Officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested a Chinese for attempting to leave the country with KD 25,000 hidden in a secret compartment in one of his bags, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added the man failed to justify the source of the money and the reason of his departure without informing the concerned officials about the large sum of money in his possession.
The man has been referred to the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station. In the meantime police are investigating.
