Kuwait secure silver medal in women’s shooting competitio­n

Al-Buseiri claims gold

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: On the second day of the first GCC Police Games in Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, Kuwait secured a silver medal in the women’s shooting competitio­n and their male counterpar­ts won the bronze.

The ongoing event witnessed the presence senior police officials led by Chairman of Kuwait’s Police Sports Union Major Gen Faisal Al-Sineen and Assistant Undersecre­tary for Special Security Affairs Muhammad Al-Dosari.

Kuwait’s Ghannam Al-Dekaan won the gold medal in the Judo competitio­n (under 90kg) and the silver went to Qatari AbdulQader Bo Mahdi, while Saudi Abdul Rahman Muhammad won the bronze.

In the under-100kg competitio­n, Kuwait’s Saud Al-Buseiri claimed the gold and the silver went to Qatar’s Muhammad Nu’emi, and Saudi’s Naif Ammar took the bronze medal, while Kuwait’s Hussein Hassan won the gold in the above 100kg Judo competitio­n, followed by Saudi Naseeb Rakan (silver) and Bahrain’s Omar Al-Jodar (bronze).

Meanwhile, in the moving targets (pistol) competitio­n for teams, the gold medal went to United Arab Emirates (UAE) comprising Amin Muthanna Taher, Muaad Jumu’ah Al-Kandari and Muhammad Saleh Al-Aamer, which scored 281 points.

Saudi Arabia took second place with 265 points through AbdulAziz Muhammad Al-Hajji, Yahya Hadi Al-Ati and Abdullah Fahad Al-Jareed, and Kuwait bagged the bronze medal with 261 points by team members AbdulAziz AlManee’, Ali AbdulAziz Hussein and Mishal Al-Shatti.

In the same category, UAE’s Mariam Ahmad Jassem, Abeer Hassan Al-Ali and Hanadi Khalifa Al-Kabori scored 281 points to claim the gold medal for the women’s team, whereas Kuwait came second with 269 points scored by team members Suzzane Rashid Al-Azmi, Jazi Zamel Al-Zamel and Bashayer Faisal AlRabeian, and the Kingdom of Bahrain took the third place with 248 points earned by Sameera AbdulJalee­l Ahmad, Manal Abdullatif Al-Zuwadi and Reem Yusuf AlHashimi.

In the individual category, both men and women shooters from UAE won the first three places; Muhammad Saleh Al-Aamer came first in the men’s category, followed by Muthanna Taher and Muaad Jumu’ah AlKandari respective­ly, while Afraa Mubarak Al-Kheili was ranked first and Fatma Nasser Al-Rasibi coming second, and Mariam Ahmad Jassem in the third place.
