National Guard launches 2nd ‘strategic plan’
The National Guard has launched its second strategic plan under the theme of “Security First,” covering the period from 2015 to 2020, said National Guard Undersecretary Major General Hashem Al-Refaie on Wednesday.
Maj Gen Al-Refaie said in a speech that the plan aims at overhauling the structure of the N. Guard to enable it to perform its duties of providing the society with the security it aspires for.
The plan seeks to streamline all measures to secure and protect all the nation’s vital locations including government buildings.
In doing so, he said the N. Guard will work in close proximity with all military and societal organizations to ensure the safety of people and property.
The plan, he stressed, also seeks to beef up the readiness of the N. Guard in dealing with national emergencies, natural disasters, and terrorism.
A major priority of the plan is also to provide job opportunities to Kuwaiti youth qualified for work at the N. Guard, said Brigadier Isam Naif Isam, head of the team in charge of the plan.
He emphasized the notion that the plan affects most aspects of functions that are carried out daily by the National Guard and that by the end of the plan in 2020 the National Guard will be an organization of commendable capabilities at the behest of serving the security and safety of the people.
