Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Informatics Award to launch a symposium

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11, (KUNA): Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award announced late Tuesday the launch of a symposium next December in a step towards knowledge economy.
The symposium, the first of its kind to be held in the Middle East, will be launched on December 1 under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah carrying the theme ‘Success factors for digital projects in a knowledge economy,’ said head of the symposium’s organizing committee Bassam Al-Shimmeri in a press conference.
It will be launched in cooperation with Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), he added.
The 15-year-old Award, by holding the symposium, is underlining significance of investing in human resources and unleashing youth potentials in order to diversify and reconstruct domestic economy through technology and knowledge, Al-Shimmeri pointed out.
On her part, member of the organizing committee Dr Safaa Zaman said that the symposium would have workshops aimed at encouraging young innovators and digital business owners.
