National Library. KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17, (Agencies): The Ministry of Education is working hard to fight using modern technology to cheat in exams, and that there “are many solutions to eliminate any signs of a cheating,” Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa said on Thursday.
Exams are running smoothly, especially after cancelling some difficult questions from the curriculum, Dr Al-Essa said after his tour in some schools to check high school’s second term tests.
The Ministry prepared to face any new ideas and to cheat and would “tighten the screws on cheaters,” he warned.
The ministry has a plan for the development of educational methods from the primary to high school, in accordance with modern systems, he added.
For her part, Director of Al-Asimah Educational Area Badriya Al-Khaldi said around 10,956 students are performing the mid-term exams in all Al-Asimah high schools.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education intends to hold a meeting with its health counterpart soon to discuss the possibility of laying down a mechanism to control the large number of sick leaves in schools as the phenomenon has negatively affected the educational process, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources also unveiled the ministry’s plan to add supervisor II position for various subjects, indicating this step has several educational and administrative benefits for the academic sector.
Sources explain the position will be added to schools with minimum of 27 classes or 700 students, affirming the top officials have agreed on the proposal provided regulations are implemented properly in terms of distributing tasks to senior officials.
In another development, Kuwait National Library has installed an electronic system as part of a project to upgrade its documentation and services.
The library general director, Kamel Al-Abduljeli, said in a statement that the electronic project is aimed at preserving the national literary and intellectual heritage, including history and culture books and references.
With installment of the electronic network, the library will be a reference for the national archive, following example of top libraries worldwide.
Contents of valuable books have been loaded into the digital system, he explained.
The project also includes assembling documents, maps, manuscripts, as well as stamps, old currencies and coins.
