LoYAC holds concert by Kuwaiti int’l pianist Lulua Al-Shamlan
Event aims to highlight importance of encouraging Kuwaiti artists
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: In cooperation with the National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters, the LoYAC Academy of Performing Arts organized a solo concert for Lulua Al-Shamlan, a Kuwaiti international pianist with the participation of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity held at the multipurpose hall at Al-Shaheed Park, on Dec 12.
The concert was organized believing in the importance of encouraging Kuwaiti artists. Lulua Al-Shamlan, has earned numerous international awards and raised high the name of Kuwait in different arenas, the establishment of such concerts and events is an important part of the development of the creative talents and amateurs in various types of arts. The ceremony included a total of a selected program of the most important and most famous musical compositions by renowned composers like Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Chopin.
Fareah Al-Saqqaf, Founder and Managing Director of LoYAC, pleased with the great success that the musician Lulua AlShamlan has achieved, stressed LAPA’s continual support for talented young people to accomplish its objectives and its vision to enable young people in their communities by enabling them to express themselves. She underscored the organization’s belief in the importance of arts and music instruments in building bridges of love and peace among people.
Al-Saqqaf thanked and appreciated the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity and the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature for its support in nurturing the amateur and academic talents of all the youth.
She also noted that Lulua is a Kuwaiti young talent that, LAPA has adopted, since she projected a promising future when she got a lot of awards in several competitions in Azerbaijan, France, the last of which was Mead Somerset Festival Festival of Britain.
Recently, she won the second place to play in Carnegie Hall in New York on The American Portege International Competition, an unprecedented success that makes her the youngest pianist participating in the ceremony.
