AAW debuts int’l sporting 'goods retailer' in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co (AAW), a leading distributor of athletic apparel and footwear in Kuwait, today announced the launch of global sporting products retailer Intersport Group’s Intersport flagship store in Kuwait at the exclusive Murouj Strip, the retail area at Sahara Resort.

Intersport is the world’s leading sporting products retailer with more than 5,500 affiliated stores in 44 countries, adding Kuwait to its expansion strategy December 2015.

Deputy CEO at AAW, Khaled F. Al Mutawa said, “We are pleased to announce the start of a new venture with the Intersport Group, our longterm partners. The new brand store is the first of a series of Intersport stores we plan to launch in the coming years as part of a strategic and gradual push to dominate the retail sport sector by giving customers in Kuwait access to the latest in quality sportswear, apparel and equipment.”

Acquiring Intersport from a GCC company alongside the agreement from the Intersport Group, the Intersport flagship store under AAW will span over 1,050 square meters featuring major athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment collections from world-renowned international brands McKINLEY, Firefly, Energetics, Pro Touch, Technopro, Etirel, NIKE, Adidas, Reebok, Sketchers, Under Armour, Puma, and New Balance. Intersport aims to bring “Sports to the People” by providing top-of-the-line products in hardware, footwear, apparel, casual sportswear, swimwear, winter sports, outdoor equipment, fitness and wellness equipment and more to meet a variety of customers styles and sporting needs.

Intersport is available at Murouj Strip at Sahara Resort located in Mubarak Al Kabeer.
