Man vandalizes expats cars

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: The owner of a sweets shop in Jabriya filed a complaint against an unknown person who allegedly broke into the shop and stole KD 500 and a hard disk which contained pictures of the shop.

A case was registered and investigat­ions

20 for deportatio­n:

Personnel from the General Department for Residence Affairs have arrested 20 Ethiopians -17 women and 3 men -- for violating residence laws and referred them to the Deportatio­n Centre, says a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior.

According to a security source, the 17 women, some of whom have been reported absconders by their respective employers, were employed by the three men to work as domestic workers.

Kidnap bid foiled:

Police are looking for an unidentifi­ed person for attempting to kidnap a Filipino beautician in Abu Halifa, reports Al-Rai daily.

In her complaint to the Abu Halifa Police Station the woman said the suspect offered to drive her home after she left work and when she refused, he attempted to force her into his vehicle. are ongoing to arrest the culprit.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti man lodged a complaint at Jabriya Police Station against the wife of his father as she purportedl­y beat his sister. Police will summon the accused for questionin­g and legal procedures will be taken if the complainan­t’s claim is proven true.

The complainan­t has provided police with the numbers plate of the car.

Liquor with Indian:

The Farwaniya police have arrested an Indian for bootleggin­g, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the man was driving a bus in the area and prompted suspicion of patrolmen on duty.

Police seized from the man 72 bottles of local booze. The suspect has been handed over to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control.

Fight over booty:

Police have arrested two Kuwaitis for stealing watches and gold bracelets from a parked car in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily.

The arrest came after someone saw two men fighting and alerted the Operations Room of the Interior

On the other hand, a number of expatriate­s filed a case against a Kuwaiti man who allegedly caused damages to their vehicles. They claimed the man burst the tyres of their cars which were parked near his house. The Kuwaiti will be summoned soon to verify the complaint and take legal action against him if the allegation is proven true.

When police arrived the suspects tried in vain to escape, but they were chased and arrested. They have been detained at the Salwa Police Station. During interrogat­ion they said they were fighting over the distributi­on of the stolen booty.

Beaten in graveyard:

A Kuwaiti woman has lodged a complaint with the Waha Police Station accusing her husband of assaulting her with a metal object inside the Jahra Cemetery and causing her serious injury, reports a local Arabic daily.

A medical report submitted by the woman shows injury to the head. In her complaint the woman also accused her husband of causing damage to her car.

Police attempted to call the husband several times, but he did not respond. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
