Store takes fashion route to raise awareness
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The world we live in is plagued with issues that need our immediate attention and it requires us to come together as one community to address challenges the modern society faces. The Splash Limited Edition Calendar -- Love For The Planet, takes the fashion route to help raise awareness. The stunning calendar was unveiled by Mr Raza Beig, CEO, Splash and ICONIC at a glittering party at his residence.
Capturing and interpreting the very essence of these topical challenges is renowned fashion photographer Tejal Patni and taking the styling to the next level is international designer Furne Amato. Each month takes inspiration from 11 goals ranging from No Poverty, No Hunger, Education Everywhere to Industry Innovation.
Each image touches upon grave issues that are highlighted through surrealism. Every month is dedicated to a challenge we have to come together to help eradicate. Lavish sets and props adds to the surrealistic approach to bring this calendar to life. Just to throw light on a few challenges out of the 11

that Splash has decided to advocate is that of Peace which is a powerful image of a woman in a flowing camouflage dress with pigeons flying out stating that a single act of peace is more powerful than a million wars. Clean Water emphasizes the importance of our basic right to clean water which is far more priceless than the luxuries in life as the model can be seen vacuuming a cloud to get pure water. As the model stiches up the sky in the next image, we are drawn to the cause of fixing Climate Change by taking the right action. The month of December urges everyone to open their hearts to a future of opportunities and prosperous possibilities.
“Fashion is a powerful mode of expression and this year we have taken an incredibly ambitious route by drawing inspiration from the global goals set by world leaders. Our effort with the 6th edition of the Splash calendar is to simply spread the word and get people to take notice of these pressing issues. The images tastefully blend fashion and global challenges to present to you the issue in a way that will make you take notice and believe that it is possible to achieve a society devoid of poverty, injustice to name a few issues,” said Raza Beig, CEO, Splash & ICONIC.
