Ali Al-Khorafi outshines fellow competitors
Ayman Mohammad wins KD 1,000 at Hala Feb draw
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: Kuwaiti horse rider Ali Al-Khorafi outshined his fellow competitors by jumping the above 145 cm hurdle to clinch first place in a tighten competition at the Hala February 2016 Horse Racing Tournament inside Kuwait Equestrian Center where some 150 horse riders from various age groups competed.
Noura Al-Aqoud came second ahead of Ghazi Al-Juraiwi, Abdul-Rahman AlFawaz and Abdullah Al-Roudhan who secured the third, fourth and fifth places respectively.
Higher Planning Committee Member and Chairman of the Media Committee for 2016 Hala February Festival Waleed Mohammad Al-Saq’abi commended efforts of the management board of Kuwait Equestrian Center and their maximum cooperation in hosting the tournament. He extended appreciation to sponsors of the tournament for their moral and material support.
He mentioned Ooredoo, Kuwait Airways Corporation, Association of Hotel Owners in Kuwait, Kuwait Touristic Enterprises Company, Al-Morshoud Incense, Salman Abdullah Dabbous and Sons Company, North Gulf Company ‘Hyundai’ and Al-Anba Newspaper. He also expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Ministries of Interior and Health for providing maximum security and optimum medical services.
He declared the tournament as among the most successful activities of the festival, considering the large following by spectators from Kuwait and other GCC countries.
Meanwhile, Ayman Mohammad won KD 1,000 cash in the last raffle draw, while many others received prizes and other gifts at the Hala February marketing show and grand raffle draws in Souq Sharq, supervised by the representatives of Ministry of Trade and Industry, amid a large crowd of participants from different age groups and nationalities — including Kuwaitis.
It was a carry-over of successful previous programs that started at Dabbous Shopping Complex in Fahaheel area before moving to Salman Dabbous Complex in Hawalli and then Maghateer Complex in Farwaniya area. The company sponsoring the event has provided free coupons for distribution in various shopping outlets.
In the meantime, owner of Eli Boutique Waleed Al-Kandari said 2016 Hala February Festival is a month-long celebration for Kuwaiti and expatriate. He observed the 17th edition of the festival is unique with novel activities that drew the attention of Kuwaiti families, and boosted micro and medium economic projects in the country.
He congratulated the government and citizens of Kuwait on the 10th anniversary of the ascension of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to their offices, 55th National Day and 25th Liberation Day festivities. He noted his boutique contributed its quota to the festival’s success by giving back to society.
