Detectives nab 22 Ghanaians over ‘immoral’ party at resto

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Some 22 Ghanaians were arrested by detectives from the Directorate General of Residency Affairs in the course of an immoral party held at a restaurant in Fahaheel area, says Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry.
Statement added that detectives, acting upon a tip-off concerning an ongoing immoral party at a restaurant in Fahaheel area, dispatched a team of detectives to verify the information. The officers took necessary legal measures and raided the restaurant after confirming the authenticity of the report, and arrested 22 Ghanaians; six male and 16 female, and all of them were in violation of Article 20 of Residency Law. They were referred to concerned authorities for legal measures action.
3 students arrested for drugs:
Capital securitymen arrested three students of Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences in Bneid Al-Gar for consuming drugs with an undisclosed quantity of drugs and paraphernalia in their possession.
While patrolling the area, the securitymen noticed the abnormal behavior of the students who were asked to stop for inspection. The officers said the students were under the influence of drugs so they were subjected to a thorough check that led to the discovery of some drugs and paraphernalia.
The officers also checked the identification documents of the students who are in their third year in the academy. The students were then referred to the Drug Control General Department (DCGD), along with the confiscated items.

The Criminal Court has released some people who were accused of forging residence permits saying the charges against them are invalid, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The court in its ruling said the case papers indicate administrative follies.
The court added some malpractices have been noticed in the issuance of tourist visas which has overlapped some departments at the Interior Ministry.
The court added it found more than 10,000 visit visas were issued to eight people. The procedures were correct but the fault was committed by the administration.

Police have arrested a retired Kuwaiti for cheating a compatriot and selling a fake artifact for KD 5,000 claiming it belongs to the Pharaonic era, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The arrest came after the buyer filed a complaint with the local police. The cheat has been referred to the authorities.
The Ahmadi police in cooperation with the State Security police have arrested three Syrian women and an unidentified child for begging for alms, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, they were caught in front of a commercial complex in Fahaheel.
Police investigations revealed the child has no relation with the arrested women, but he was reportedly hired on KD 10 per day basis.
All the arrested people face deportation. In the meantime, the authorities are initiating legal action on their sponsors.

The Farwaniya police have arrested the two Iranians who had escaped from the Zahra Police Station, reports Al-Jarida daily
A security source said the arrest came after a Kuwaiti saw the two men standing in front of a grocery and informed the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry.
The daily said the Kuwaiti recognized the men from the pictures circulated by the Ministry of Interior.

3 running liquor factory:
Three Asian expatriates were arrested for running an illegal liquor factory from an apartment in Salmiya area.
According to security sources, when Hawally Security Director Major General Shihab Hamad received information about a gang involved in manufacturing liquor inside an apartment near Amman Street in Salmiya area, he formed a team for investigating the matter.
After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, Hawally securitymen rushed to the location and raided the apartment to find 67 barrels locally manufactured liquor and 50 cartons of liquor bottles.
They arrested the three Asian suspects and referred them with the con- fiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
Collision lands man in hospital:
An unidentified man sustained injuries when his car overturned on the Fourth Ring Road, opposite Hawally, after colliding with another vehicle.
Police officers, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene after the Operations Unit at the Interior Ministry received information about the accident. They helped the injured out of the damaged vehicle and took him to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital.
Traffic officers conducted investigations to determine the cause of the collision and traffic flow returned to normal a few minutes after the accident.
Meanwhile, a female citizen was rushed to Farwaniya Hospital as she got several bruises and cut on her hand when she figured in an accident along the Sixth Ring Road.
