Communication, Interior reach agreement to block defaulters’ transactions

107 MoE employees unjustly obtaining social, children’s allowances

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Sector at the Ministry of Communication Adel Dashti said an agreement has been reached with the Ministry of Interior to ‘block’ the transactions of Kuwaitis, residents and companies until they pay their debts to the ministry because in spite of several reminders these people have failed to settle their overdue dues, reports Al-Anba daily.

Dashti said after the defaulters pay their debts a report will be sent to the ministry and the names of such people will subsequently be cleared.

In other news, Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs and Administrative Development at the Ministry of Education Yousef Al-Najjar said 107 employees of the ministry unjustly obtaining social and children’s allowances, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Najjar added the ministry has submitted necessary documents and data of these employees to Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP).

Meanwhile, acting SecretaryGeneral of the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR), LieutenantGeneral Najeeb Al-Othman said the Ministry of Education has submitted detailed statistical on the numbers of Bedoun students in different educational stages for academic 2015/2016 but a review of the data and the final figures show there are errors in the numbers, reports a local Arabic daily.

Al-Othman has asked the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr Haitham Al-Athari to review the statistics and the number of students.

Kuwait Cultural Office in Cairo received a letter from the College of Education in Banha University in Egypt with the names of six female Kuwaiti students of a diploma course in Mental Health Studies who have not been attending classes, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

They revealed that the concerned employees of the cultural office will carry out investigations in this regard.

An unidentified expatriate working for the Hawally Educational Directorate reportedly used his good offices to pre- vent the sacking of his wife who had been absent from work for seven months, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added, he did not only succeed in preventing the sacking of his wife, but she continued to get her salary although she had left the country.

This manipulation continues and the expatriate employee is said to have put pressure on the concerned department not to issue a termination letter for his wife to help her receive her salary.
