Customs foils bid to smuggle in shabu
16-year-old nabbed for drug peddling
KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Customs officers at Al-Abdali border post recently foiled an attempt by an Iraqi truck driver to smuggle shabu into the country, reports Al-Rai daily.
The officers have seized from him 500 grams of the drug hidden in pack of salt.
Juvenile arrested:
A 16-year old juvenile was arrested for drug peddling on behalf of a drug dealer in the Central Prison, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The suspect was arrested in a trap and he admitted to working for the inmate. He has been referred to the Directorate General for Drugs Control for necessary legal action against him.
Kuwaitis held over brawl:
Police have taken into custody two Kuwaitis for fighting in a public place in Mahboula, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, both men were armed with a knife and baton and one of them is seriously injured and has been admitted to the Adan Hospital.
Police are investigating.
Pakistani commits suicide:
An unidentified Pakistani is said to have ended his life by hanging himself with a rope inside his home in Sulaibikhat, reports Al-Rai daily.
Without going into details the daily said the remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics.
2 enter military zone:
The security authorities have arrested two men – a Lebanese, identified only as F.N. and a Yemeni, A.S., for entering a prohibited military zone, reports Annahar daily.
The daily added, after preliminary interrogations the men have been handed over to the State Security police. Police records show the Yemeni is a criminal and had been sentenced in absentia to one year jail for breach of trust.
Landmines detonated:
Officers from Explosives Disposal Unit recently detonated two landmines that were discovered in Mutla’a area near Ali Al-Salem Air Base, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The landmines are remnants of ordnances left behind the Iraq army in 1991.
