Echinacea purpurea also known as eastern purple coneflower or purple coneflower is native to eastern north America. It produces cone-shaped flowering heads. The petals droop after growing outward from the cone. Depending on the climate, it begins to bloom in late May or early July.

Site: Coneflower­s enjoy a sunny location. Temperatur­e: 60 -68°F.

Water: As the roots of the plant are vulnerable to damage from water, the soil must drain well.
