KUWAIT CITY:

-

Chairman of the National Assembly’s Youth and Sports Committee Abdullah Ma’ayouf has called upon the Anti-Corruption Authority to investigate the actions of the Olympic Council of Asian (OCA) because reports of corruption and money laundering activities are in the air, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Ma’ayouf explained the agreement to host the OCA headquarters gives immunity to members but this immunity does not cover crimes, if

committed, through Kuwaiti banks.

He pointed out the government grants diplomatic immunity to non-government organizations and this definitely is a big mistake that should not have happened because it violates the Vienna Convention and the Diplomatic norms.

He added the National Assembly had delayed the approval of this agreement in 2003 for three years until Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahd became minister and during his put the stamp of approval in 2006 without even reviewing the contents.
