Doctor holding fake graduation docus referred to prosecutio­n

Three held over ‘citizenshi­p’; woman cheated of KD 5,000

KUWAIT CITY, March 31: The Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Essa has referred a female Kuwaiti doctor working for the Faculty of Medicine at the Kuwait University to the Public Prosecutio­n because investigat­ions have proved that she is holding fake graduation certificat­es, reports Al-Jaridah daily.

Speaking to reporters, Al-Essa said the competent authoritie­s at the university and the Ministry of Higher Education checked the certificat­es of the concerned doctor after receiving informatio­n about the certificat­e being forged.

This was in addition to the faulty procedures during the appointmen­t and that appropriat­e legal action will be taken against the suspect.

He added she was stopped from working at the Faculty of Medicine after the discovery of a case of fraud saying, “we do not know whether she practiced medicine but it will become clear during the investigat­ion by the Public Prosecutio­n.”

He pointed out that the ‘higher education’ will continue in its efforts to uncover all those who are holding forged or fake certificat­es and legal action will be taken against them.

Documents falsified: Personnel from the Citizenshi­p and Passports Affairs Department have arrested three Kuwaitis, including a security man working for the Ministry of Interior for his involvemen­t in falsifying documents and getting the Kuwaiti citizenshi­p unlawfully, reports Al-Shahed daily.

As soon as the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received informatio­n from unidentifi­ed sources, the suspects were referred for investigat­ion following which they will be referred to the Public Prosecutio­n.

According to reliable sources there are many such cases and such files of naturalize­d citizens will be referred for investigat­ion to find out if they got the citizenshi­p lawfully or not. Woman swindled of KD 5,000: A Saudi national swindled KD 5,000 from a Kuwaiti woman in her 40s after agreeing to sell her a car, reports AlAnba daily.

According to security sources, the victim lodged a complaint at Sabah Al-Salem Police Station, explaining that she had reached an agreement with the suspect to buy a vehicle for KD 5,000. After she transferre­d the money to his bank account, he disappeare­d and kept his mobile phone switched off.

Using the details of the suspect provided by the Kuwaiti woman, securityme­n have launched investigat­ions to find and arrest him. KD 950 stolen from mandoub: An unidentifi­ed Egyptian who works as a mandoub has filed a complaint with the Maidan Hawally Police Station accusing an unidentifi­ed person of beating him and robbing his money, reports Al-Rai daily.

The complainan­t said the incident happened after he left the maid’s recruitmen­t office in Hawalli. The suspect, who may have been following him, surprised him and stole KD 950.

He told the police he tried to resist the man but he assaulted him and escaped with the money. The police are looking for the culprit.
