KUWAIT CITY, April 2: The establishment of a joint Gulf army is becoming a reality with the final agreement on the formation of a great defensive and offensive military system with the participation of all military sectors, and decision of the Gulf states to build a number of nuclear reactors in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources.

The sources revealed the allocation of a common budget to support the Gulf project and make it a success so that it can preserve the unity of the Gulf territory from external threats, disclosing that all the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries except Oman have agreed to participate in the Gulf army.

They indicated about the possibility of canceling the joint security agreements with the United States of America and other major countries, which represent considerable financial burdens on the budgets of the Gulf countries.

The sources said that the GCC secretariat has formed a joint military technical team which is studying the allocation of effective air and naval bases in the strategic sites where military bases will be built.

They indicated that a meeting among the chiefs of staff will be held in Riyadh to agree on the final steps and decisions, revealing about the military coordination between the GCC and Egypt, Jordan, Sudan and Morocco as well as an agreement to establish a joint Control Room among these Arab armies and the new Gulf army.
