Traffic campaign conducted in all 6 governorates

KUWAIT CITY, April 2: As per directives from Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Mehana and Assistant Director for Licenses and Organizational Affairs Major General Fahd Al-Shuwaie, the traffic sector conducted a major campaign in all six governorates Friday, dispatching traffic personnel to the main roads to deter violations by motorists.
The operation resulted in the detention of 15 individuals and a minor who was later sent to juvenile prosecution, while one expatriate was referred to the deportation center. Also, they issued 3951 citations for various traffic offenses, and impounded 239 vehicles plus 6 motorcycles.
An Interior Ministry press statement indicated 280 patrol cars, 101 police officers and 179 securitymen participated in the campaign along with the directors of traffic departments in all governorates and the Director of Operations and Traffic Tasks Sector.
The campaign was in the framework of cooperation and coordination between different sectors of the ministry affiliated to the General Traffic Department, and it will continue in an indeterminate period to curb violations and ensure road safety.
Public Relations and Security Information Department urges road users to abide by traffic rules and regulations by checking speed limit, and desist from crossing the red signal.
