Govt not handling seriously the current economic situation: MP

‘Law on salary scale for equality, transparency’

-

KUWAIT CITY, April 2: Head of Parliament’s Budgets Committee MP Adnan Abdulsamad says the government is not seriously handling the country’s current economic situation and is succumbing to pressures imposed on it, reports Al-Rai daily.

He indicated that all government authorities are keen about preserving expenditures and achieving reforms but they do not want to be affected by any of the procedures that are being taken in this regard.

Meanwhile, a member of the Parliament’s Human Resources Development Committee Ahmad Lari affirmed that the law on Strategic Alternative to Salary Scale is aimed to ensure justice, equality and transparency among all sectors of the country, reports Al-Anba daily.

He stressed that this law can achieve justice because the salaries of the employees of some sectors are currently being increased without conducting any studies to justify this increase, which in turn causes disorder concerning the salaries of public sector employees in the country.

In addition, Parliament’s Priorities Committee will Sunday, April 3 hold a meeting to discuss a number of issues concerning the security plan of the government particularly of Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources.

They revealed that the discussions will be held in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Deputy Premier, Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Oil Anas Al-Saleh.

The sources explained that the committee will discuss the incidents that took place in the country in the past few years as well as the plan and preparations of Ministry of Interior to protect the country from any dangers and security risks.
