Philippine ambassador inducts TISOK Council for 2015-2016

Group’s socio-civic activities, charity events cater to Filipinos in Kuwait, Philippine­s

Ambassador Renato Pedro Villa inducted the officers of the Triskelion Internatio­nal of Kuwait (TISOK) Council for 2015-2016 at the Philippine Embassy in Faiha. The TISOK Council is led by its Chairman Joffrey Galvan along with Vice-Chairman Internal Ninoska Aragon, Vice-Chairman External Ramund Oraa, Master Keeper of Scroll Santos Ecinares, Master Keeper of the Chest Janelle Albino, Master Wielder of the Whip Mharlon Buenaobra and TISOK Advisers namely Michael Yunon, Samuel Guintu, Miguel Sta Barbara, Barnaby Ibanez and Clyde Ibanez.

TISOK is part of the Tau Gamma Phi, one of the largest fraterniti­es in the Philippine­s with about 700,000 registered members while TISOK has more than 100 members and is one of the most active Filipino organisati­ons in Kuwait.

Ambassador Villa congratula­ted the newly inducted TISOK Council and expressed the Philippine Embassy’s full support to the group’s socio-civic activities and charity events that cater to the Filipinos in Kuwait as well as in the Philippine­s.

On TISOK’s part, Galvan vowed to fully discharge the duties and responsibi­lities expected of him and is bent on taking TISOK to greater heights during his tenure. Galvan who was one of the TISOK founders has been actively involved in all the group’s activities since its inception.

“We will do our share in helping our fellow Filipinos in whatever way we can. We will continue the TISOK brand of community service that we are known for,” he stated.

Other TISOK officers for the Hawally chapter are Neil Barrera — Grand Triskelion, Richard Noble — Deputy Grand Triskelion, Ronald Villanueva- Master Weilder of the Whip, Marshal Balberona — Master keeper of the chest, Jan Luzuriaga — Master Keeper of the Chest and Hawally Advisers Jeremie Figuracion, Carlo Salvador, Renan Romualdo, Joffrey Galvan; Fintas chapter Officers, Arjay Cagape — Grand Triskelion, Cyrus De Sena — Deputy Grand Triskelion, Internal Roel Piastro -Deputy Grand Triskelion External, Ian Frederick Dam- Master Keeper Scroll, Maykel Karamba — Master Keeper of the Chest, Irishcher Norilla — Master Wielder of the Whip and Fintas Advisers George Tubo, Donny Castillo and Glen Reyes. Meanwhile, the Chief Most Distinguis­h Guardian is Alejandro Panaguiton and MDGS-Most Distinguis­h Guardian are Robert Luage, Arnold Ibanez, Ching Vinas and Mario Pulvida. On the other hand, MDLG : Most Distinguis­h Lady Guardian are Maria Corazon Buche-bel, Jeny Ordillos and Jocelyn Baylen

Finally, the Sigma Affairs Officers are President Ana Mae Dela Cruz, Vice-President Ley Antonette Lorenzo, Secretary Jazmine Ma. Ystrella Barrientos, Treasurer Kharen Cabrera, Humanitari­an Affairs/Special Projects Rowena Miguel and Advisers Maria Corazon Bouchebl and Ninoska Aragons.

TISOK is known for its “Libre Aral” project that espouses on the importance of continuing education by giving free computer classes to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Kuwait.

The current TISOK Council under the leadership of Galvan plans to revive “Libre Aral” for the OFWs as part of its community service.
