season in the UAE. Rashid’s UAE karting campaign will resume again in September, where he will compete in the 2016-2017 IAME Championship as well as in the 2016-2017 Rotax Max Challenge in the Micro Max category.

Rashid’s Father, Ali Al Dhaheri said: “Rashid is extremely excited to be starting a new season. As the youngest driver in most of these competitions this will be his most intense and challenging season yet.

Therefore this season will be all about learning, there is no doubt he has a lot of natural ability but in order to progress he needs to gain crucial experience and learn to compete at the highest international levels against older, more seasoned drivers.

However we are still optimistic as Rashid is used to this kind of challenge, last year Rashid was competing with kids up to 4 years older than him, this is all the more impressive because at this age the physical differences between a 7 year-old and 10 year-old can be huge.”

Rashid’s 2016 season takes on a new dimension as he receives ACI CSAI Italian Motorsport Federation School training to come to grips with the mechanical and technical aspects of racing. This is an essential part of any racing driver’s training as it allows drivers to communicate effectively with the support crew on the performance of their vehicle. This will be the first time that Rashid will be giving feedback on the kart’s mechanical performance.

At the tender age of 7, Rashid is already one of the UAE’s hottest young sporting talents, winning over 20 races locally and internationally. Rashid has competed in 51 races, of these he has reached the podium 38 times and 21 of them in first place.

KUWAIT CITY, April 2: Republika ng Sports sa Kuwait (RSK) celebrates another milestone in providing quality sports to OFWs and expats in Kuwait, as it debuts and holds its first invitational volleyball games dubbed as “RSK 1st Invitational One-day Volleyball Tournament” and themed “Spike Up your Life” at Kazma Sports Club in Adailiya.

Headed by the club’s newly appointed President for Volleyball – Fjay T. Awa with assisting committee Rodel Calabia, Fernan Gayaton, Erwin Mercado and RSK Officials, the one-day competition highlighted two divisions – ladies’ division and men’s division and participated in by eight (8) teams of volleyball aficionados in Kuwait.

Supported by Pro Sports Kuwait, hard courts were ready as early as 8:00 a.m. and started off with games in the Ladies’ Division in a round robin format. The Regency team immediately showed dominance by staying unbeaten in all their games -- a force too much to handle even in the final match with the Super Strikers. The Regency Team easily grabbed the championship title in a lopsided match of just 2 sets.

In the Men’s Division on the other hand, it was anybody’s ball game with all teams equally talented and powerful, with most matches going into third or deciding set. Team D’ Rookies showed prowess in the early rounds but was not able to sustain strength in the mid rounds, giving way to more formidable teams Rivals, and Kuwait Prix. Heart-stopping powerful spikes, graceful tosses, and sly touches showered the championship match between Rivals and Kuwait Prix – making spectators look in awe to every hit of the ball.

After 3 sets of a hard-fought, exciting ball game, the Men’s championship trophy finally went to the Rivals Team with score 25 – 17.
