DOHA, April 3, (KUNA): The Gulf Qatari Society for Classic Cars said on Saturday that Kuwait’s entry of a vintage Aston Martin DB24 has won third place in the 2016 Qatar Concourse D’Elegance showcasing luxury classic and vintage.

Germany’s Mercedes Benz SL300 won first place, while Saudi Chevrolet Belair 1957 won second place in the exhibition.

The Director of Historic, vintage, and traditional cars museum Abdullah Al-Yaseen expressed to KUNA, his appreciation and pride to achieve this position amid fierce competition.

Al-Yaseen added the Aston Martin DB24 of 1955 won third place in the category to vehicles that was made after the Second World War from 1948-58.

Al-Yaseen noted that the museum hosted many exceptional cars, and Kuwait’s entry witnessed tremendous rebuilding of the vehicle by Kuwaiti young hands, and through dedication and hard work.

Al-Yaseen noted that such achievement will be added to other achievements made during Kuwait Concourse D’Elegance held last year which brought together nearly 80 vintage cars for general exhibition, saying it was a highly successful event.

The director praised efforts exerted by all who organized the event.

In this year’s Qatari event which started last Tuesday and is slated for five days, about 100 vintage and classic cars are on display, all vying for valuable prizes.
