Vidya Lakshmi Portal:
‘Vidya Lakshmi Portal’ has been launched on Aug 15, 2015 by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. Under this scheme, any Indian student can apply for educational loan online by browsing on www.vidyalakshmi.co.in.
The main purpose of this portal is to have facilities of education loan, scholarship and other student friendly facilities through one link. Students can apply from his/her home, institution, kiosk or Cyber café. The portal is linked with “Centre for Good Governance National-e-Scholarship Portal: www.scholarship.gov.in.
Students can also apply for scholarship. Besides, a good number of student-friendly schemes are also mentioned in the portal. Students can apply, view and track their educational loan application to banks anytime by accessing the Portal which would be useful for students, parents, institutions, bankers, employers, researchers, etc.
Serbian Embassy notice:
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia to the State of Kuwait makes the following announcements: 1) The new phone and fax numbers are as follows: Telephone: 25375042/45; Fax: 25375049. 2) The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Consular Section announces to all Serbian citizens living in Kuwait, Bahrain and Yemen that start issuing again of the biometric passports effective from 16/02/2016.
2016-India Fellows Programme: As a part of the drive to India Connect Initiative, OIFC (Overseas India Facilitation Centre) is scheduled to launch “The India Fellows Programme” in June 2016. This is open to young Indian Diaspora entrepreneurs/professionals in decision making capacity/potential investors and international partners of Indian companies (between 21-39 years of age) who have a minimum of 3 years of entrepreneurial experience. The programme is being offered at a special introductory fee of $5,000 per participant plus service tax. The fee will cover boarding, lodging, programme related learning material, field visits & webinars. The participants will have to bear the cost of travel and local conveyance. A brief note issued by OIFC in this regard is enclosed.
Selected candidates who complete the programme shall become members of the OIFC India Entrepreneurship Fellows (OIEF) Club, will receive support and facilitation from OIFC for doing business in India. The main objective of this scheme is to help Diaspora entrepreneurs to have an understanding of aspects critical to gaining market entry, practical insights about doing business with India, idea of the legal & regulatory environment, exposure to Indian economy and an insight into the emerging opportunities of the world’s fastest growing economy. Indian Embassy notice:
All India Radio has launched a multimedia website for its external service. The website airworldservice.org is presently available in English, Hindi and Urdu languages. The content consists of rich bouquet of news, current affairs, programmes on culture, heritage, music, art, tourism, health-care, issues relating to economy, investment, development, education etc. The website
which has a blend of text, pictures, video and audio components, also features live streaming of radio programmes. It also has a segment of “Radio On Demand”.
The External Services of All India Radio have been broadcasting their programmes in 27 languages (15 foreign and 12 Indian). They are reaching out to more than 140 countries through medium and short wave. Broadcasts are aimed at Indians living abroad as well as others worldwide. The programmes of AIR have wide following as is evident from large number of letters, e-mails received by the different language services. It is mainly for Indian Diaspora and to give the listeners a feel of Home away from home. AIR also broadcast in Bangla, Baluchi, Burmese, Chinese, Dari, Pashtu, Punjabi, Nepali, Saraiki, Sindhi, Sinhala, Tamil and Tibetan for the neighbouring countries. Their objective is to project the progress and policies of India, along with its arts and culture. Czech Embassy notice: The Embassy

Starting 15.11.2015 the visa applications can be submitted at the Joint Visa Application Centre in Kuwait.

Embassies Football League:
The Premier Sport Academy in association with Everton FC is pleased to invite embassy teams to participate in a football league dedicated to serving the international community in Kuwait.
Weekly matches will be played at the Everton Bayan Sports Arena on Sunday evenings with kick off times of either 7 pm or 8 pm starting in October. Teams should consist of 7 players (one goalkeeper plus 6 outfield) and upto 4 substitutes.
Matches will be two halves of 25 minutes each.
Participating teams must represent their embassy and be either employees or nationals from the embassy.
The league will be organised by PSA Everton and will initially run for twelve weeks followed by the Everton Cup competition.

The Embassy would also like to remind that 30 foreign nationals including Kuwaiti passport holder is exempted from obtaining visa for entering Indonesia. According to Article 3 and 4 of the Presidential Decree No: 69 Year 2015 dated 9 June 2015 concerning the visa exemption for the 30 foreign nationals, this visa exemption is valid only for the touristic purpose for the
period of stay of thirty (30) days and it is not extendable nor exchangeable to other type of immigration stay permission status. In order to get this facility, the tourists must enter Indonesia through nine (9) designated immigration checkpoints as follows: Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta, Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, Kuala Namu Airport in Medan, Juanda Airport in Surabaya, Hang Nadim Airport in Batam, Sri Bintan Seaport in Tanjung Pinang, Batam Center Seaport in Batam, Sekupang Seaport in Batam, and Tanjung Uban seaport in Riau.

Cuban Embassy notice:
The Tourist Visa or Tourist Card is only for purposes of tourism to Cuba. It is valid for one single entrance into national territory for a 30-day trip and can be extended for an additional 30 days at the office in the hotel where one has accommodations or with the immigration authority.

Malta Embassy notice:
The Embassy of the Republic of Malta is pleased to announce that as from March 1, 2015, if you are resident in Kuwait and Malta is your main destination you can submit your application for a Schengen visa at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Malta. Indonesia Embassy notice:
The Embassy of Indonesia in Kuwait has issued a press statement announcing its relocation to Daiya, Block 1, Rashid Bin Ahmad Al Roumi Street, Building No 2. The Embassy also announced it has shifted to an online visa application system called ecounselor.

Philippine Embassy notice:
In preparation for the upcoming 2016 Philippines national elections, the Philippines embassy in Kuwait is inviting qualified Filipino applicants for the temporary position of Project Term Personnel. Applicants, apart from being Philippines nationals, must also be computer literate holding a valid visa 18. The contract will only run for a maximum of three months, renewable subject to DFA-OAVS authorization based on the post’s performance and attainment of registration target.
Project Term Personnel are to perform, but not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
● Assist with information dissemination
● Increase awareness on the ongoing Overseas Voter (OV) registration through promotional activities and events
● Encode the names and contact details of registrants
● Prepare materials for OV registration
● Answer queries regarding OV registration
● Assist OV registrants
● Perform Task of an alternate Voter Registration Machine (VRM) operator
● Remind registrants to vote and provide them with the necessary information
● Perform other services that may be required in the exigency of the service

Embassy of Laos notice:
The Embassy of Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Laos) announces that Kuwaiti citizen can apply for visas at the Lao Embassy during working days and can also obtain visas on arrival at all international airports and checkpoints of the country. It is valid for a single entrance for 30 days and must be used within two months of being issued by the embassy.
For the visa on arrival, the stay permit will be 15 days after the date of entry and can be extended for an additional 15 days through immigration authority.
To obtain the visa, you need the following documents:
1. Passport (valid for at least 6 months with at least two pages available for the visa stamp)
2. Two recent passport photos
3. Visa application forms
