Securitymen nab Asian taxi driver with 100 ‘Farawla’ narcotic pills
Egyptian couple found dead in car; KD 3,000 stolen
Agencies KUWAIT CITY, April 4: An Asian taxi driver was arrested in possession of 100 narcotic pills that are locally known as ‘Farawla’.
According to security sources, when Farwaniya Security Director Brigadier Saleh Al-Enezi received information about a taxi driver selling drugs to his customers, a security team was formed to observe the suspect. He was arrested while he was waiting for one of his clients in the parking area of Farwaniya Cooperative Society. They checked his civil ID to discover he is an Asian expatriate and they found 100 narcotic pills locally known as ‘Farawla’ in his possession.
When questioned, he confessed that he has been working as a taxi driver in order to sell drugs. He was referred with the confiscated drugs to the concerned authorities for further investigations.
Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area in possession of 61 bottles of liquor.
Woman molested: An unknown person molested a British lady in Salmiya area and escaped after the lady shouted for help.
The victim filed a case in Salmiya police station and presented medical report to clarify her medical condition. She said a person in sport suit molested her near a vehicle after she came out of her apartment, and the suspect escaped when she cried out for help. She provided the description of the suspect to the police.
In a related incident, an Asian lady was molested by an unknown person while she was returning to the sponsor’s house in Jahra Governorate. A case was registered.
Couple found dead: An Egyptian couple was found dead inside a vehicle that was parked but left running in Khaitan area on Sunday, April 3, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about two corpses in a car, securitymen rushed to the location and referred the corpses to the Forensics Department. They also found a piece of hashish inside the car.
Medical examinations have revealed that the cause of the couple’ death is inhalation of toxic fumes released by the vehicle. A case was registered. Safe with KD 3,000 stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who broke into the home of an Iranian woman in Khaitan and escaped with safe containing KD 3,000 cash, jewelry, important documents and 3 flash memories containing personal photos and information, reports Al-Rai daily.
The caretaker of the building said he did not see any stranger entering or leaving the building.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
Girl jumps to her death: The Ahmadi police are investigating the death of a minor Egyptian girl who reportedly jumped from fourth floor of the family apartment in Fintas, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added, the 26-yearold sister of the victim called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior and informed her sister had committed suicide. The 30-year-old brother said he was in the room when he heard cries of help from her sister.
