Writers’ Forum holds monthly meeting
On the evening of March 25, the Writers’ Forum Kuwait held its monthly meeting at the residence of Dr M U Beg. Urdu writer and poet from India, Asif Azhar Ali graced the evening as a Chief Guest whereas an active member and English writer Sabiha Balgirami presided over the meeting.
The meeting began with the note of congratulation extended by the members of Writers Forum to Shahjahan Jaffery for her book titled ‘ Suno’ selected by Anjuman Farogh Urdu, New Delhi for distribution & records.
During story session, members enjoyed the pleasure of listening to stirring stories written and narrated by Vice-President of the forum Dr Waseem Siddiqi, Chief Guest Asif Azhar Ali and articles by Shahjahan Jaffery & Mujeeb respectively.
In the poetry session, members recited their respective poems in different Indian lan- guages. Those who participated were Amir Kidwai, Tajwer Sultana, Shahjahan Jaffery, Shakeel Jamshedpuri, Sayed Akram, Ameer Uddin, Chief Guest Asif Azhar Ali, Umesh Sharma and Aamir Diwan and Mohan Singh read out the poem of his daughter Parminder Kaur.
At the end of the meeting, Chief Guest Asif Azhar Ali in her concluding note appreciated the Writers’ Forum for its effort to bring the Indian languages on to the one platform in Kuwait. President of the evening Sabiha Balgirami also expressed her view about the evening. New members Sayed Akram, Fatima Saifi and Mujeeb joined the forum and Sunil Sonsi, Aftab Alam, Vanky Dhruvi, Maimuna Chougle, Ali Chougle and Humera Roshi graced the occasion.
All the members thanked to host Naheed Beg for her hospitality.
