Strategic partnership between KU, KOC marked
In cooperation with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), the Deanship of the College of Engineering and Petroleum in Kuwait University organized the strategic partnership celebration between the university and the company. The ceremony, under the patronage and attendance of Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa, was held at Al-Massa Hall in Jumeirah Hotel.
Also present were University President Dr Hussein Al-Ansari, Dean of Engineering and Petroleum College Professor Abdullatif Al-Khuleifi and several members of the teaching staff and officials of the company and university.
Chairperson of the organizing committee for the celebration Dr Salah Al-Mudhee disclosed the partnership between the two institutions started in 1993 with 11 students from the Petroleum Engineering Section. This partnership aims to train students and polish their skills in petroleum, oil and gas sectors. Al-Mudhee pointed out the number of students training under this partnership program reached 80 students, indicating it is the longest strategic partnership between the academic and oil sectors in Kuwait. This is in addition to cooperation in other fields such as scientific research, specialized courses and technical consultations.
