2016-’17 scholarship plan includes 12 nations: MoE
82 specialities for students
KUWAIT CITY, May 26, (KUNA): Ministry of Higher Education announced on Thursday that scholarships for the 2016-2017 plan was recently approved and it included about 12 countries across the globe.
In a statement to KUNA, Director of the Scholarship Department at the Ministry Mohammad Al-Ma’touq said the countries are the US, Canada, Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Malta, France, Italy, Bahrain, UEA and Jordan.
The scholarships include about with 82 specialties, 43 scientific ones in ten countries, except for France and Italy, and about 15 scientific and literature specialties will be only in the US, Canada, Britain, Ireland Australia and UAE, he added.
He noted that about 24 literary specialties will be fulfilled in seven countries; the US, Britain, Ireland, Australia, France, Italy and Jordan.
The US, Canada, Britain, Ireland, Australia, Malta, Bahrain and Jordan will carry out medical scholarships, while dentistry ones includes the US, Canada, Britain, Ireland and Jordan, he made clear.
Students will study pharmacy in the US, Canada, Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and UAE, and will learn engineering in the US, Canada, Britain, Ireland, Australia and UAE, he said.
The US, Canada, Britain, Ireland and Australia will provide business administration specialty, will its 12 branches, he concluded.
Meanwhile, Director of Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) Dr Ahmad Al-Atari revealed that 3,000 students of both genders recently withdrew their registration for summer courses, which has increased the number of students who withdrew from the courses to more than 12,000, reports Al-Anba daily.
He said these statistics were obtained from the records of the Computer Center and the Faculty of Admissions and Registration in PAAET Dr Al-Atari indicated the likelihood of more number of students to withdraw towards the end of the registration period for the summer courses.
