‘Kuwait believes in increasing cognitive abilities of children’
4th Arab Child Theater fest opens
KUWAIT CITY, May 26, (KUNA): Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah stressed Kuwait’s deeprooted belief in raising cognitive skills of children.
Sheikh Salman, also Chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), made the statement on Thursday while inaugurating the Arab Child Theater festival’s 4th edition which will run until June 4.
He added that cognitive development of child aims to enhance the values of belonging, tolerance and love, noting that Kuwait’s culture, heritage and history are marked by these values which are in line with the vision of the wise leadership.
The vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Premier Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah stresses the importance of supporting and caring for cognitive development of Kuwait’s children to help them have intellectual fun, Sheikh Salman said.
He underlined the significance of intellectual and cultural efforts exerted by NCCAL during the three previous editions of the Arab Child Theater festival, indicating that the fourth edition, kicked off today, coincides with the celebrations of Kuwait Islamic Capital 2016.
He affirmed NCCAL’s keenness on promoting cognitive abilities of children through festivals which contribute to widening imagination and planting humanitarian principles inside children.
Sheikh Salman stressed the importance of abidance by moderation of Islam that should be coped with creative ideas in all cultural activities provided to children.
Finally, he expressed his gratitude to Arab guests for participating in the event with theatric performances and contributing to enriching the festival’s activities which confirm that Kuwait has a leading cultural thought.
