ACA Nurseries holds annual graduation ceremony
85 children on their way to first year of Kindergarten
KUWAIT CITY, May 30: The American Creativity Academy (ACA) Nurseries held today their ninth annual graduation ceremony, in which 85 children have graduated and are on their way to their first year of Kindergarten. The graduation ceremony was held at the American Creativity Academy’s boys school auditorium and was attended by the children’s parents and families and Nurseries’ faculty.
Students presented their end of year show to parents and guests before being presented with their ACA Nurseries graduation certificates.
ACA Nurseries Manager, Ms Shahla Alabdullah, said: “We are very happy to be celebrating our ninth year of educating and caring for children in our nurseries. At our nurseries, children learn to interact with others and their surrounding environments, preparing them to their following years in kindergarten and beyond. We are the first step in each child’s learning path, and aim to set the right foundations for children to grow and succeed within the larger community.”
Community
Alabdullah added: “ACA Nurseries deliver a standards-based American curriculum. We value the importance of communication between our students, parents and faculty to show each child that we are a community of students-parents-teachers, while promoting a sense of belonging to our school.”
The Nurseries present concept skills that comprise English-language development, with reading, writing and oral skills, math, science and social studies. ACA Nurseries also includes in its curriculum art, technology, library, physical education, health and safety, with Arabic-language and Islamic instruction, all facilitated in a hands-on and student participative approach.
ACA Nurseries were established in 2006 and have nurseries located in different areas of Kuwait, namely Shamiya, Al-Salam, Mishref, Salmiya and Shuhada. The Nurseries plan to continue their expansion to cover new areas in the country.
ACA Nurseries are part of the ACA schools and nurseries, which are the first in Kuwait to be accredited by the Council of International School (CIS), the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
Experience
The ACA curriculum focuses on encouraging each child during the learning experience, while fostering their independence, community and citizenship skills, social-emotional development, and learning through exploration. These are delivered through child-centered activities, presented through age-appropriate and developmentally sound approaches and differentiated instructional lessons and activities.
