KUWAIT CITY, July 20: MP Khalil Abdullah has called on the Council of Ministers to issue a directive to the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) to expedite the completion of its afforestation project along the highways in remote areas and the outskirts; including Salmi, Nuwaiseeb, Seventh Ring, Sheikh Saad Abdullah Airport and Abdally roads.

In his proposal, Abdullah pointed out the importance of ensuring ecological balance in order to prevent decertification and to preserve the beauty of Kuwait.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister and acting Oil Minister Anas Al-Saleh revealed that the total amount received from companies as per the laws on national manpower support, Zakat and general contribution for fiscal 2014/2015 reached KD 48,812,817. He said the companies that failed to pay will be given a grace period of one month and if they do not pay within this period they will be referred to court through the Fatwa and Legislation Department

This is in response to MP Hammoud Al-Hamdan who asked the minister to provide him with receipts of all the money collected from companies in accordance with the aforementioned laws.

The minister revealed the money received from companies and sent to Zakat House amounted to KD 7,155,895 while the fund for public services reached KD 12,002,403 and the national manpower support totaled KD 29,654,519.

On another issue, MP Hammoud Al-Hamdan has proposed the establishment of a citizen service center in Sabah Al-Ahmed City for the citizens to complete their transactions easily. He asserted such a center plays a significant role in speeding up procedures for the citizens and reducing the crowd in government departments, adding the citizens will also save time and money.
