MADRID, July 20, (Agencies): Sevilla have completed the signing of Italy international Franco Vazquez from Palermo on a five-year contract, the Europa League champions announced.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has put pen to paper on a deal that ties him to the club until June 2021. Sevilla announced in a statement: “Franco Vazquez is officially a new Sevilla FC player.

“He has signed a five-year contract.”

Atletico did not give any financial details regarding the transfer fee but the Spanish media have estimated that Sevilla paid Palermo 12million euros.

Spaniards Munir El Haddadi and Sergi Samper have signed new threeyear contracts with La Liga champions Barcelona.

The 20-year-old forward Munir completed his second season with the first team in 2015-16, scoring eight goals in 26 games in all competitions.

A statement from Barcelona read: “FC Barcelona and Munir El Haddadi have reached an agreement to renew the player’s contract for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2019.

Norwich City have signed Northern Ireland goalkeeper Michael McGovern on a three-year-deal, the Championship club have said.

McGovern, whose heroics in goal helped Northern Ireland to the last 16 of Euro 2016 in their first major competition since the 1986 World Cup finals, was a free agent after his contract with struggling Scottish side Hamilton Academical expired.

Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korea forward Son Heung-min does not fear the fierce competition he faces at the Premier League club and has played down speculation linking him with a move away.

Spurs have signed striker Vincent Janssen, Netherlands top scorer in the Dutch league last season, and are close to tying up a deal for Olympique de Marseille’s French winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, but Son is determined to fight for a place.

Middlesbrough have signed Spain forward Alvaro Negredo from Valencia on a season-long loan deal, the newly-promoted English Premier League club said on Wednesday.

The 30-yearold, who scored 11 goals for Valencia in 30 games last season, played in England for Manchester City, where he won the league title, having joined the club from Sevilla.

He becomes ‘Boro manager Aitor Karanka’s second close-season signing from Valencia after defender Antonio Barragan.

Burnley captain Tom Heaton has signed a new four-year contract that will keep him at Turf Moor until 2020, the newly promoted Premier League club said on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old, who was in England’s squad at the European championship last month, will compete with Paul Robinson and new signing Nick Pope for a place in the first team.

Liverpool have signed centre back Ragnar Klavan from Bundesliga side Augsburg on a long-term contract, the Premier League side said on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old, who has more than 100 caps for Estonia, made 40 appearances for Augsburg last season and offers Liverpool some much-needed defensive cover following the sale of Martin Skrtel to Fenerbahce and the release of Kolo Toure.

Two other Liverpool defenders, Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez, are set to miss the start of the season with achilles injuries.

Towering Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has signed a new contract with the club to June 2019, the Premier League champions said on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old played every minute of Leicester’s title-winning campaign and was a key part of their shock success, forming a rock-solid central defensive partnership with Robert Huth.

“To commit my future to Leicester City is a wonderful feeling,” Morgan, who joined the Foxes in January 2012 from rivals Nottingham Forest, told the club’s website.

Striker Olivier Giroud is likely to stay at Arsenal, his agent Michael Manuello has said, playing down speculation linking the France international with a move to Italy’s Napoli.

Uncertainty surrounding the 29-year-old’s future intensified after British media suggested that he had been included in a deal to bring Napoli’s Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain to the Emirates Stadium.

Manager Arsene Wenger failed to sign Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, and Manuello suggested that any incoming striker would be a replacement for the injured Danny Welbeck, not for Giroud.

New Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti insisted on Wednesday that he would not allow key striker Robert Lewandowski to leave the German champions for Real Madrid.

Italian Ancelotti, who led Real to their 10th European crown in 2014, took over at the Allianz Arena from Pep Guardiola, who left for Manchester City, at the end of the
