LOS ANGELES:

Lucy Fry has joined the cast of the Netflix actioner “Bright,” starring Will Smith, Joel Edgerton and Noomi Rapace.

David Ayer (“Suicide Squad”) is directing the $90 millionbudgeted pic, the streaming giant’s most expensive film to date.

“Bright” tells the story of a human, played by Smith, and an Orc, played by Edgerton, who must outrun cops, criminals and an assorted collection of magical creatures in order to protect a magical wand.

Written by Max Landis, the script became one of the Hollywood’s hotter packages after WME and CAA took it to buyers when Warner Bros was unable to make a deal for the rights. Most felt that a major studio would land the project, given the star power and the price reps were asking upfront for P&A. Netflix, however, swooped in, committing a massive $90 million, spending $3 million alone to acquire the spec.
