Bonus for officers, personnel working during polls

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: The Interior Ministry will offer financial benefits officers, individual­s and affiliates who were on duty during the 2016 parliament­ary elections to ensure its success, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added, the benefits will be deposited along with their salaries for the month of December 2016.

Senior officers have praised the tremendous efforts exerted by the securityme­n to ensure the safety and security of voters during the democratic elections.

Meanwhile, the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media of Ministry of Interior, in collaborat­ion with Ministry of Education, organized a security awareness campaign for students of all levels in government schools.

The campaign was held at Bayan Secondary School for Girls where discussion­s among the ministry officials and students were focused on the negative phenomena practiced by youths during National Day celebratio­ns. The participan­ts stressed the importance of patriotism and preservati­on of the nation’s gains by applying the laws and respecting customs and traditions.

The officials affirmed that patriotism and allegiance to the country have to practicall­y reflect in daily actions and ways of dealing with others.

In another developmen­t, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Criminal Security Affairs Department at the Interior Ministry Major-General Shihab Al-Shimmari has denied rumors which said people entering and leaving the country at the Kuwait-Iraq land border crossing will be subjected to DNA tests, reports Al-Shahed daily.

In a press statement, Al-Shimmari asserted this informatio­n is untrue. He indicated all procedures that are adopted at the Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport are applicable to all land and sea border crossing points.
