Asian dies in mishap

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Abdullah Othman Al-Rashid upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which acquitted eight members of the ruling family who, along with some others, were accused of bringing domestic workers into the country illegally.

During the court session, the counsel to two ruling family members Lawyer Dawood Al-Sabah insisted that his clients have nothing to do with the accusations leveled against them due to which they should be acquitted.

Meanwhile, the Misdemeanor Court fined an online magazine and an individual KD 5,000 each over a case filed by Lawyer Dawood Al-Sabah, who accused them of defamation.

The court also accepted a civil case against them.

Asian dies in mishap:

An Asian expatriate died in a hit-and-run accident in Umm Al-Mumeneen located between Sabah Al-Salem and Firdous areas.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and found the victim in a pool of his blood. They examined him to discover he succumbed to serious injuries. His corpse was referred to the Forensics Department

Securitymen have launched investigations to find a group of individuals who had closed some roads to perform stunts and drive recklessly.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from Kuwaiti citizens about a group of individuals driving their vehicles recklessly and performing stunts in the absence of traffic officers, securitymen rushed to the location to discover the suspects managed to escape.

An informant revealed that one of the vehicles did not have a number plate.

Necessary action was taken by securitymen.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti woman who knocked down a compatriot in Sabah Al-Salem with her car has been referred to the authorities for primary investigation, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the victim was taken to hospital with bruises and fractures.
