Multi-Lingual Helpline in India

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: For the benefit of foreign tourists visiting India, Government of India has introduced a 24x7 Toll Free Multi-Lingual Tourism Helpline, available in several internatio­nal languages, namely, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. This service is available on toll free number 1800111363 or on a short code 1363 and operationa­l 24x7 (365 days in year) offering a “multi-lingual help desk”. The ambassador said that the agency has achieved its goal in May 2016 with the entry of physical protection of nuclear materials and the amendment into force, which was ratified by the State of Kuwait in April of this year, expressing its eagerness to fully implement this agreement and to ensure achieving the universali­ty of the treaty.

He praised the role of the Internatio­nal Atomic Energy Agency in organizing this conference in the wake of the success of the first Internatio­nal Conference on Nuclear Security, which was also held in Vienna in July 2013. He added that this conference is a good opportunit­y to exchange views and assess progress towards the promotion and developmen­t of the national nuclear security and the agency’s efforts to strengthen its central role in the field of nuclear security.

The Kuwaiti ambassador went on to say that the State of Kuwait continues its full commitment to support and strengthen the Agency’s programs aimed at achieving security and nuclear safety and make the world more secure and peaceful.

Meanwhile, it is imperative for Kuwaiti youth to be involved in voluntary work for it is a realm where they can enhance their potentials and bolster national belonging, Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah affirmed.

Sheikha Amthal, Chairperso­n of the Kuwaiti Voluntary Work Center, in a statement Monday, on the Internatio­nal Volunteer Day (IVD), assured the young citizens “that gates for such engagement is open for all and in various sectors.” She lauded vital role of government and private volunteeri­ng institutio­ns, namely the center, for promoting such action that helps in cementing Kuwait’s ties with other nations.

Charitable and voluntary works have been proceeding well in the country, largely due to the continuing support by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah.

Meanwhile, the world celebrates on Monday the Internatio­nal Volunteer Day (IVD) which comes on Dec 5 every year, being a great opportunit­y to reflect the efforts of workers in that field, especially in Kuwait.

Kuwait has always been known for its keenness in supporting this domain out of being a center for the humanitari­an work, as the volunteeri­ng work is not restricted to the government­al institutio­ns of the private sector, but goes beyond that to cover work of Kuwaiti youth group.

Minister of Informatio­n and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah indicated that Kuwait, represente­d by the Youth Affairs Ministry, offers youth volunteers great care and attention.

Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has had a bright history in relief and volunteeri­ng works through offering help to people in need inside Kuwait and abroad.

A large number of Kuwaiti youth formed volunteeri­ng teams which offer assistance to people in various forms and occasions.

Head of volunteers department at KRCS Dr Musaad Al-Enezi said that the volunteers’ numbers exceeded 1,700 females and males who practice their volunteeri­ng activities inside Kuwait and abroad, saying that they are trained and qualified through the help of KRCS’ courses and lectures.
