IDAK to mark 10th ’versary:
The Indian Dentists’ Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) is an alliance of dental surgeons of Indian origin, working and residing in Kuwait. It was formally constituted in 2006 and is registered with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait.
Currently IDAK is affiliated to the Kuwait Dental Association (KDA) and organizes many activities in partnership with KDA. It boasts of a membership close to 300 dentists working in the public and private sectors. The activities of IDAK are aimed towards scientific, cultural, sports, social and community services. IDAK also strives to foster a sense of camaraderie amongst its members.
This year, IDAK is celebrating its “Decennial Year” (10th Anniversary). The showcase event of this year is the release of the Oral Health Guide (Vol.5) accompanied by a cultural entertainment show, “Reflectionz”, which will be held under the patronage of HE the Ambassador of India to Kuwait on Dec 9, 2016 at the Maha Ballroom in The Regency Hotel, Kuwait. The chief guest for the event will be Padma Bhushan Prof B.M. Hegde (Former Vice Chancellor, Manipal University) an excellent orator, internationally acclaimed & highly respected medical scholar. This event will also be attended by many guests of honor from the Ministry of Health and other wellknown personalities from Kuwait and India.
The Oral Health Guide (Vol.5) will contain theme-based articles on dentistry in English and Arabic languages. The theme of the OHG this year will be Lifestyle & Oral Health,
which basically covers advice on dental health care through all the different stages of life, starting from pre-natal to geriatric. This will provide the reader with good in-depth knowledge of the relationship between lifestyle & oral health. More than 5,000 copies of this guide will be distributed to various institutions and establishments. Amongst them, are also hospitals, clinics, schools, guests and the general public in Kuwait and India. IDAK is
also bringing out a memoir, which will contain glimpses of its growth and various activities over the past 10 years.
