Alghanim Industries concludes activities at NUKS USA conference

Event focused on education, employing female, Kuwaiti talent

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: Alghanim Industries, one of the largest private companies in the region, concluded its sponsorshi­p for the 33rd annual conference of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) USA branch, which took place from Nov 24 to 27 in San Francisco, California, under the slogan “Youth Awareness for a Lasting Nation”.

The conference was conducted under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Higher Education, H.E. Dr Bader Al-Essa, and was attended by the Ambassador of Kuwait in the United States, HE Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah, as well as a number of prominent media figures and representa­tives from several private sector companies.

Alghanim Industries participat­ed in the career fair, where representa­tives of the company hosted a workshop to help students build a strong resume. They were also present at the company’s booth during the fair to answer students’ questions about the company and available job opportunit­ies. With the conclusion of the conference’s activities, Alghanim Industries held a draw as part of the “Night Show”, and presented the winners with valuable gifts from X-cite.

Regarding Alghanim Industries’ sponsorshi­p of this year’s NUKS conference, Head of the Corporate Communicat­ions Department at Alghanim Industries, Abdullatee­f Abdulazeez AlSharikh, said: “We participat­e in this conference every year because it is the largest gathering of Kuwaiti students in the United States, and it gives us an opportunit­y to interact directly with these exceptiona­l students. We at Alghanim Industries recognize the importance of education, and that is why we dedicate many of our Corporate Social Responsibi­lity initiative­s towards it. We also continuous­ly train and develop our employees through our in-house learning and developmen­t department. We wish all of our students in the United States the best of luck during their studies and wish them success in their profession­al careers. Our youth have huge potential, and we would be happy to have them as Alghanim Industries interns or employees in the near future.”

The company has been actively working to increase its Kuwaiti workforce through a variety of initiative­s. One example is the Alghanim Future Leaders Program, which is a special program to develop the profession­al skills of talented Kuwaitis who have recently graduated from college. In addition, the Kuwaiti Mentoring Program gives Kuwaiti employees the opportunit­y to develop their leadership capabiliti­es through the engagement and counsel of the company’s senior leaders. Building a strong Kuwait workforce is a strategic priority for the company, and its participat­ion in the NUKS conference is an important part of these efforts.

The sponsorshi­p of the annual NUKS conference in the United States comes as part of Alghanim Industries’ Corporate Social Responsibi­lity (CSR) program, which is committed to empowering the underprivi­leged, supporting education and encouragin­g entreprene­urship. It is worth noting that the company was the Strategic Sponsor for the fifth annual Tmkeen Youth Symposium, an initiative that provides youth with valuable insights about entreprene­urship from industry leaders, academics and experts, and was held under the patronage of the Amir, HH Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah. The company is also the largest supporter for INJAZ-Kuwait, as it encourages its employees to volunteer regularly in INJAZ’s different programs. In addition to being a platinum sponsor of “Arabnet Conference” and providing free event tickets to 100 university students in Kuwait.
