KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: On the last day of the President’s Cup competition, FAST President Ronil Paul Garcia finally climbed to the top and dominated the Professional Division with up-coming shooter Armando Reyes for the Standard Division. Both shooters displayed perfect shooting performance.

At the start of the practical shooting competition Garcia briefed the competitors that safety was the priority of both the range and the organization and briefed them with the scenario. The scenario was built to test accuracy as there were total of 8 No Shoots to partially cover targets. Foot work also was a big factors since 2 of the targets were placed on the ground to be shot while kneeling.

An aggregate scoring method was used to calculate the final score for each competitor with a bullet in Alpha earning 5 points, while in Bravo and Charlie brought 3 points and Delta 1 point. The time taken to complete the shoot plays a major part in the standing as the total score is divided by the time taken over the course to get the result.

The shooter was penalized and 10 points deducted from the total score for procedural errors and hitting noshoot targets and disqualified if they violated any gun safety handling rules.

This was the 2nd stage of the competition and as the winter season sets in, the heat was on within the competitors as they came in with high intensity and eagerness to capture the title.

In the Standard Category Armando Reyes stood tall as he shoots with accuracy and almost perfect score. He finished the course under 45.17 seconds and collected 19 Alpha and 1 Charlie for a total of 2.1696 hit factors that gave him a slight lead but enough to be on the top for tonight’s competition.

Lambert Bernardo came in 2nd place and had to do it twice to beat his 1st attempt after getting sloppy that gave him 12 Alpha, 4 Charlie, 2 Delta with 2 Mikes and 2 No Shoot as he hit the barricade earning a penalty that dragged his score to 0.7979 hit factors after finishing the course in 42.61 seconds.

But in his 2nd attempt, he learned to control his tempo and finally hit the mark after collecting 16 Alpha, 3 Charlie and 1 Delta under 42.45 seconds and he holds the fastest time for the Standard Category that gave him a score of 2.1201 hit factors.
