‘Street’ in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh named after Amir
KUWAIT CITY, March 25: Governor of South Sinai Major General Khalid Foda revealed that a street in Sharm Al-Sheikh, Egypt has been named after His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, reports Al-Rai daily.
He said this during a distinguished ceremony which was attended by the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt Mohammad Al-Thuwaikh as well as a number of Kuwaiti and Egyptian diplomats and political leaders.
The governor said this honor is in appreciation for the humanitarian stances of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait and his consistent role in supporting Egypt.
It is worth mentioning that Sharm Al-Sheikh earlier named two roads after the late Emirati president Sheikh Zayed Al-Nahyan and King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Essa.
Director of Imported Food Department at Kuwait Municipality Eng. Al-Humaidhi Al-Mutairi affirmed the keenness of the municipality to tighten supervision on the shipment of meat and poultry products that arrive from Brazil, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a press statement issued by the municipality, Al-Mutairi said the Arabian Gulf countries, in the last few days, have taken several steps to enhance supervision of the Brazilian meat and poultry and checking the relevant documents.
These steps were taken when some Asian countries decided to stop importing Brazilian meat and poultry products after receiving information about the accusations leveled by Brazilian police against more than 30 companies for bribing health inspectors into granting meat certificates for rotten meat products.
