Miraj shows class in ‘Championsh­ip’

KUWAIT CITY, March 25: In the 22nd Mangaf Clinic Horseracin­g Championsh­ip held this weekend, the horse Miraj from Al-Bathal Stable came first in the 1,600-meter race of fifth setting for Class 1 horses by ending the race in 1:44:56 minutes. Second place was taken by the horse Watani from Al-Nayef Stable and third place by the horse Qabi from Al-Saihan Stable.

The prizes were presented to the winners by Director General of Mangaf Clinic Mohammad Al-Shammari and Board Chairman of Farwaniya Equestrian Club Mubarak Al-Daihani.

Meanwhile, the horse Abta from AlJenfawi Stable won the 1,000-meter race of first setting for Class 4 horses within 1:03:88 minutes, followed by the horse Dasman from Al-Zamawi Stable in second place and the horse Odhbati Inti from Al-Qanni Stable in third.

In the 2,000-meter race of second setting for Class 4 horses, the horse Mubader from Al-Odheila Stable won the race by clocking 2:17:55, followed by the horse Haizoom from Abu Sheba Stable in second place and the horse Plattini from Ibn Dhamna Stable in third place.

In addition, the horse Haya Taal from Al-Khathiya Stable won the 2,000-meter race of third setting for Class 3 horses within 2:13:29 minutes, followed by the horse Suttam from AlOdheila Stable in second place, and the horse Aliya Tuweiq from Al-Qanni Stable in third.

Director General of Mangaf Clinic Muhammad Al-Shammari extended his appreciati­on and gratitude to Farwaniya Equestrian Club for the successful organizati­on of the 22nd edition of the horseracin­g championsh­ip. He also thanked the participan­ts as well as the huge number of spectators for supporting the “sport of our forefather­s”.
