KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has prepared the list of employees who deserve excellent performance bonuses from six sectors of the ministry, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

They said the bonuses will be deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries at the end of this week or start of next week.

The sources revealed that the total bonus allotted for disbursement ranges between KD 1.5 million and KD 1.8 million.

They explained that the value of the excellent performance bonus depends on the designation of the employee such that assistant undersecretaries will receive at least KD 2,000, directors of departments KD 1,500, supervisors KD 1,250 and heads of department KD 1,000. In addition, employees of grade four will receive KD 800, those of grade five to eight KD 600 and rest KD 300.

The sources indicated that the ministry will seek approval of the Civil Service Commission in order to disburse bonuses to employees who were hired on special contracts.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Commerce and Industry is all set to open a new hall at the Commercial Licenses Department next week after the glass barrier between visitors and employees have been removed, reports Al-Anba daily.

Minister Khalid Al-Rawdan had given instructions last January to remove glass barriers between the ministry’s staff and visitors to smooth the progress of work.

A reliable source said the headquarters of the ministry will be open to employers and citizens only, while company representatives (mandoubs) will be received at the branches.

In the meantime, director General of Kuwait Municipality Engineer Ahmad Al-Manfouhi recently announced completion of the first Financial and Commercial Center in Al-Mirgab area to be handed over to the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), reports Al-Anba daily.

In a statement, Al-Manfouhi added the financial center is unique among the state projects in terms of design, indicating it fulfills the desire of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad to transform Kuwait to a financial and commercial hub in the next period.
