Dialogue … ideal path to harmony

HOW many issues would have become complicated if not for dialogue even at the minimum level? How many problems would have intensified if not for the conflicting parties finding harmonious ground even at its lowest level? How many stances and decisions would have led to negative repercussions — if not dramatic — if not for some sort of reconsideration?
Many believe that dialogue is a sign of retreat in front of others. However, reality is often the opposite of this misgiving. Dialogue opens doors for the concerned parties to be heard and their opinions respected, let alone for their suggestions and proposals to be taken into consideration.
Many countries manage to solve several of their problems on the dialogue table. This is in consideration of the fact that national unity and harmony lead the path towards new stage of political building, and even social and economic development in a country.
Of course, dialogue does not necessarily lead to reconciliation per say. Every party in the dialogue could reserve some of its principles and proposals. Also, disagreement could continue to exist especially when it comes to details. But despite all that, disagreements normally take its natural course even when that course is

difficult.
In this regard, experts and observers affirm that political reconsideration is not a sign of defeat. Even though the road is well paved, it could have more obstacles, either politically, socially or even psychologically.
During the current sensitive phase that our region and the world are going through, experience has proven that dialogue has to find its way in conflicts, regardless of the difficulties and obstacles found in that way.
It is very unfortunate that there are people who suddenly cross the lines of conflict in an attempt to cripple dialogue efforts. In fact, some devote themselves to smashing the pillars on which the conformity operation depends or even destroying the focuses needed for reconciliation to happen among the concerned conflicting parties.
Therefore, we say that social dialogue is the civilized method and the democratic course that could bring together different perspectives and provide a certain sense of social stability, tranquility and security.
In conclusion, regardless of the level of existing factors behind differences, it is necessary to search for the least level of harmony. Dialogue is the ideal path to take in any conflict and disagreement.
