In 1941 Saleh got married, he was twenty years old and still a student at the Mubarakia, but his new responsibi­lity as a married man changed his mental dispositio­n.

He was less of an activist rebellious spirit and more of a mature responsibl­e young man taking his study and new social bearing very seriously.

In 1943, as soon as he completed his education, he was appointed to teach at the “Sharkya School” where he taught for one year. He then taught at the “Ahmedya School” for another year, after which he left teaching to look for another job.

The reason for leaving the teaching profession can be traced to his inability to impose discipline in his class, because his practical jokes and witty remarks of early days were not forgotten by his students, who adopted them to make his life miserable.

Convinced that teaching was not his true vocation Saleh left the class-room without regret; he had other interests in mind.

Also acting, which came natural to him did not hold him for long. He continued taking part in plays till at the beginning of the sixties he became so completely involved in his pursuit of astronomy, that he had no more time for acting, inspite of he was among the pioneers actors awarded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in 1977.

Some children are born with a distinctiv­e inclinatio­n, which as they growup it becomes a ruling passion; such was the case of Saleh Al Aujairi with astronomy.
