‘Sponsors abandoning workers to their fate face strict action’

Agencies KUWAIT CITY, April 4: Two Syrian expatriate­s were arrested in possession of sex stimulants in Farwaniya area.

According to security sources, Farwaniya securityme­n were patrolling the area based on instructio­ns from Farwaniya Security Director Major General Saleh Matar when they suspected a vehicle with two occupants.

After demanding the driver to pull over, securityme­n checked the details of the two individual­s to discover they are Syrian expatriate­s and one was in violation of the residency law. Upon inspection, securityme­n found sex stimulants on them.

The two suspects were arrested and referred to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, an Indian expatriate was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area for consuming liquor.

Farwaniya securityme­n were patrolling the area when they noticed the suspect walking unsteadily and then running as soon as he noticed the patrol vehicle. They caught him to realize he was in a disoriente­d state because he had consumed liquor.

He was referred to the police station of the area where necessary action was taken against him.

Workers abandoned:

Personnel from the so-called ‘Quartet Committee’ formed upon a decision issued by the Council of Ministers organized a security campaign against labor and residence law violators in Al-Hassawi, reports Al-Rai daily.

During the campaign the committee — comprising personnel from the ministries of Interior, Social Affairs and Labor, Commerce and Industry, and the Kuwait Municipali­ty — are said to have arrested 15 residence law violators and referred them to concerned authority to prepare their deporting the country.

Punitive action will be taken against sponsors who ‘abandon’ their employees to their fate. Moreover, the files of their companies will be ‘frozen’.

It has been reported one of the persons caught by the police said he was charging only 250 fils for a haircut to earn a living.

Intruder stabbed:

An unidentifi­ed intruder, who was stabbed by a Kuwaiti five times, has been admitted to the Jahra Hospital, reports Al-Rai daily.

It has been reported the incident happened when the victim surprised the Kuwait inside his house in Al-Naseem.

The daily quoting the citizen said the intruder attempted to assault the Kuwaiti, and the latter stabbed him on various parts of his body and called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry.

Then citizen has been referred to authoritie­s for investigat­ion.

Couple attacked:

An Egyptian expatriate and his wife lodged a complaint at Maidan Hawally Police Station against an unknown individual who attacked them in the area.

According to security sources, the victim said the suspect was driving a white-colored vehicle. He drove off after beating him and his wife.

Using the descriptio­n of the vehicle provided by the victims, securityme­n launched investigat­ions to find and arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, Fintas securityme­n arrested a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of beating another in Fintas area over right of way. The suspect was referred to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action.

In addition, a Kuwaiti citizen filed a case against a Kuwaiti student of Yousef Al-Ali Secondary School for Boys in Jahra area, accusing him of beating his son inside the school.

Investigat­ions have been launched and the student will be summoned to the police station for questionin­g.

Two hurt in brawl:

A Bedoun youth sustained injuries and a Kuwaiti citizen fractured his foot during a quarrel between them in Zahra area.

According to security sources, the quarrel broke out between the two young men in Zahra area due to a longstandi­ng dispute and they began hitting each other, which resulted in the citizen fracturing his foot and the Bedoun youth sustained various injuries.

Both were referred to Zahra Police Station after they received medical attention and necessary action was taken.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen was stabbed in the back during a quarrel among three citizens in Jahra area.

Kuwaiti swindled:

A Kuwaiti citizen accused another of swindling him of KD 3,000 under the pretext of importing sheep from Iraq.

According to security sources, the citizen went to Naeem Police Station and informed securityme­n about the incident, revealing that the suspect has disappeare­d and is not answering any calls.

A case was registered and investigat­ions have been launched to find

stolen:

An unknown individual stole a Kuwaiti woman’s mobile phone and purse from her vehicle which she had parked in front of a commercial complex in Hawally area.

The woman filed a theft case at the police station of the area, revealing that an unknown individual broke the back glass of her car and stole her mobile phone and purse, revealing that there were no documents or money in her purse.

Securityme­n lifted fingerprin­ts and launched investigat­ions to find and arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior that an unknown individual broke the window of his vehicle which was parked in front of a café in Ardiya area. Necessary action was taken.
