Al Tijaria launches ‘plant a tree’ drive

Event focuses on raising awareness on healthy environment

KUWAIT CITY, April 4: “Plant A Tree in My Country” is the latest initiative launched by The Commercial Real Estate Company “Al Tijaria” as part of their ‘We care’ — Corporate Social Responsibility program. This initiative is the brainchild of Al Tijaria’s Chairman Abdulfatah M. R. Marafie. The event focuses on increasing awareness on planting more trees and to further plant as many seedlings as possible in Boulevard and across Kuwait. On April 1, 2017 the first inaugural initiative of this campaign was successfully held in Boulevard.

Adwan Al Adwani, Chairman of Al Salmiya Group for Enterprise Development has stated that this fruitful cooperation between Al Tijaria Real Estate Company, Al Salmiya Group and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research is a result of our care in providing a healthy environment and safe outdoor area for families to enjoy their best moments.

Adwani added that more than 500 seedlings were planted in different areas in Boulevard in less than an hour. He further appreciated the efforts of all the volunteers in accomplishing this achievement which includes the staff of Al Tijaria Real Estate Company, affiliated company’s staff, tenants such as Costa Café, volunteer groups such as: Loyac, Date Palm Friends Society and Ataa Hub Society, Accounting Club at GUST University and Rotana Hotel staff.

Adwani also thanked Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait for their valuable participation in this event by offering the volunteers light snacks and drinks and distributing giveaways which can be recycled and used as seedlings once consumed.

Mrs Rawan Adnan, Marketing & Leasing Dept Manager has stated that Al Tijaria aims to encourage citizens and residents to preserve the environment and initiate similar campaigns, through this initiative. We look forward to being a role model for neighboring countries and the rest of the world in the long run.

“We Care” is the title chosen by The Commercial Real Estate Company to highlight its corporate social responsibility initiatives in alliance with applying corporate governance principles and as part of our responsibility in saving the environment and towards a greener future.
