FM meets with Japanese, Italian officials: Visiting Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held separate meetings Wednesday with Japan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Kentaro Sonoura and Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano.
The meetings, held on the sideline of Brussels’ Conference for Supporting the Future of the Syria and the Region, touched on enhancing relations between Kuwait and the respective foreign nations on all possible levels.
The meetings also touched on important regional and international matters. Senior Kuwaiti diplomats and foreign ministry officials attended the meetings. (KUNA)
Decision to form organizational unit:
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri issued a ministerial decision to form an organizational unit with the designation of Chairman of the Municipal Council within the organizational structure of the State Ministry for Municipality Affairs, reports Al-Rai daily.
Chairman of Municipal Council will follow the Office of the State Minister for Municipal Affairs directly after the minister Mohammed Al-Jabri.
According to the Decision No. 170/2017 issued on Nov 14, 2016, the Chairman of Municipal Council Muhalhel Al-Khaled sent a letter to Civil Service Commission (CSC) with a proposal to amend the organizational structure of the municipal council which CSC had approved on Jan 17, 2017.
Probe panel blames 3 authorities:
The investigation committee formed for studying the effects of recent floods in the country has blamed three authorities for failing to solve the problem, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.
They explained that Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa has been following up the works of the committee and waiting for the final report and recommendations which will be submitted to him after the committee completes its tasks by next week. The concerned officials and a number of employees from the Maintenance and Health Engineering sectors have been referred for the investigations.
