Bad behavior?:

Ministry of Education has rung the alarm bell over the consequenc­es of several problems that hinder the attainment of education by a big number of elementary, intermedia­te and high school students, reports Al-Qabas daily.

It warned of deteriorat­ion of behavior among the students, especially in the last few years, as per an annual ministeria­l report.

According to the report, sociologic­al and psychologi­cal researcher­s dealt with 85,000 student-related problems during the 2015/2016 academic year.

The report revealed that behavioral cases topped the list of the problems with 32,000 cases, followed by cases of underachie­vement among the students with 28,849 cases. Healthrela­ted problems came in a distant third place with 16,000 cases.

‘Shut after study’:

Executive President of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) Muhammad Ghazi Al-Mutairi stated the decision to close down Shuaiba Refinery was approved by the Board of Directors of Kuwait Petroleum Corporatio­n (KPC) and the Supreme Petroleum Council since 2004 after completing relevant studies, reports Al-Rai daily.

He noted the decision had to with the readiness of Al-Zour Refinery for operation after studies confirmed the refinery could not be developed due to many factors, including dilapidate­d equipment and facilities.
