‘Fresh’ at Dar Al Funoon: Dar Al Funoon is presenting exhibition titled ‘Fresh’ by Karim Ghidinelli until April 22

Karim Ghidinelli was born in Brescia, Italy. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, GA. He has widely exhibited in the United States of America and Europe. For the third time, Ghidinelli will present his most recent work at Dar Al Funoon. Karim lives and works in New York, USA.

Artist’s statement: Fresh, as in renewed, innovative and free. Freshness as the liberation from stagnant and redundant policies and tendencies. Fresh as positive, peaceful and meaningful evolution. In this ever certain world of absolute truths and populist totalitarianism. I offer no answer, merely the honesty of my journey, my reflections and dilemmas, I’d rather continue to ask, than attempt an overly simplistic answer.

Gallery hours Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 am-1:00 pm and 4:00-8:00 pm. Saturday: by appointment. Getting To The Gallery A1-Watiah, Behbehani Compound, House No. 28. For further information call +965 2243 3183. website: www.daralfunoon-kwcom.

TIES Center classes: TIES Center is conducting a series of classes about some of the Prophets and Messengers of God who strove very hard to spread monotheism and teach their respective peoples how to worship God. Their message was not only spiritual; they also taught people how to conduct their daily lives and develop the living conditions on earth.

In this series, we will focus on the following prophets: Adam, Nouh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Ayoub (Job), Yousuf (Joseph), Mousa (Moses), and Eisa (Jesus) — may peace, mercy and blessings of Allah (to Whom all might and majesty is ascribed) be upon them all.

We will not only focus on historical facts, but will also deduce some important lessons whose application in our daily interactions and chores determine our success and salvation.

Join us every Thursday at 7 pm to learn about the life and times of those messengers of firm resolve.

The TIES Center is the social and educational hub for English Speaking Muslims in Kuwait. For more information, please call 25231015 or e-mail info@tiescenter.net or visit www.tiescenter.net.
