Kuwait minister meets Tunisian head
Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled AlJarrah Al-Sabah met with Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi in Tunis on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they discussed Kuwaiti-Tunisian relations and ways of bolstering and consolidating bilateral cooperation and coordination in the security field.
Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the Tunisian leader, pointing to firm and deep-rooted relations between both Arab nations.
He reiterated Kuwait’s backing to Tunisia in its fight against terrorism, calling for stepping up mutual efforts in this regard.
On his part, the Tunisian leader hailed close relations with Kuwait, which are based on mutual respect and appreciation, thanking Kuwait for its contributions to his country’s economic development.
He voiced satisfaction with the level of coordination between Kuwait and Tunisia, stressing the necessity of upgrading the existing level of ties up to new horizons.
Afterwards, the Kuwaiti minister of interior held separate talks with his Saudi, Qatari, UAE and Bahraini counterparts on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Interior, which kicked off in Tunis earlier on Wednesday.
During the talks, they exchanged views on an array of major regional and international issues and subjects of mutual interest. The Arab ministers of interior came together here mainly to consider the growing phenomena of terrorism and extremism and inter-Arab cooperation in the security field. (KUNA)
